Ciao,

Serpico isn't just any Cabernet Sauvignon, we do things a little bit differently, and follow the traditional Italian technique of drying the grapes to produce an Amarone style wine. Hailing from Valpolicella, it's a process over six to seven weeks that concentrates flavour, contributing to mid palate plushness, complexity, and mouth coating tannins that frame the firm and serious structure.

Named after the infamous New York police officer Frank Serpico, who went against the grain and at the risk of his life to expose corruption amongst the NYPD, I encourage you to see the movie with Al Pacino, it's a classic. Ben Glaetzer and I were lucky to meet this great man, pictured below, and share with him a wine befitting of his name and story.

So, we release to you the 2013 vintage of our Serpico Cabernet Sauvignon. We don't make this every year, it's a collector's item. Pair with hard Italian cheese such as Pecorino.

Salute,

Frank Mitolo.
