If there is a bucket list of wines a true 'Amarone' style is right up there. This is a Serpico Cabernet Sauvignon that is big in both size and stature, it has aged gracefully in a 3L bottle, from a stand out Cabernet Sauvignon vintage in McLaren Vale. We didn't produce many, in fact there are only 10 available, for our mailing list members only.

Serpico is a serious wine for special occasions, made using the traditional Amarone technique of hand picking early and drying out grapes for roughly seven weeks before fermentation. It's a process that concentrates flavour contributing to mid palate plushness, complexity, and mouth coating yet silky tannins. We lose 30% fruit weight drying this wine, so imagine the complexity and richness of fig, raisin and dark chocolate flavours. No one goes to this level of detail, it is a wine to savour on a special day with many special friends.

Serpico ages gracefully and exceptionally well in a large Jeroboam (3L) format, so open now, or savour for the upcoming festive season or beyond.

94 Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate;

"Its fresh acidity and lively backbone support a wine of enormous richness and intensity, offering classic creme de cassis notes intermixed with white chocolate, damp forest, cedar, and toasty oak. Full-bodied, opulent, powerful, and totally dry with a sweet, rich mid section. It will age well for at least 10 - 15 years."
