Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine recently featured 'Standout Shiraz' from South Australia, and our 2010 Savitar fared extremely well making it to the top ten with 93 points. A great article, it defines some differences between McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley, and as noted by Nick Bulleid MW, "McLaren Vale is the most reliable region with regard to vintage variation." A great reason to invest in our region, it always delivers!

Peter Forrestal noted of our single vineyard flagship 2010 Savitar Shiraz, "very deep garnet colour and has depth with chocolate and vanilla, earthy, spicy characters on the nose, really attractive velvety texture. Rich and voluptuous, full bodied, opulent, powerful with balanced tannins." I read this and decided to have a look at one of my favourite Savitar's, the 2007, which is drinking incredibly well. Our 2007 received 95 points from Tyson Stelzer, described as “powerful, heavy-weight win with sensational concentration and intensity. Black plum, cherry and berry fruit swirls with liquorice and vanilla oak. Still extremely primary, it demands a long time to come together."

Exclusively for our Mitolo members we proudly offer you a mixed Savitar 6 pack that can head straight to the cellar, or perhaps open a bottle of each over a dinner party, and tell us what you think. We recommend that you decant for at least 2 hours.
