Last month we celebrated International Grenache Day, and arguably no one does it better in the southern hemisphere than McLaren Vale. We're just right climatically so to speak! Sitting down last night to a glass or two of my 7th Son Grenache Shiraz Sagrantino reminded me of why the varietal is so widely celebrated. It's pretty, fragrant, earthy, savoury with soft supple tannins, and goes well with so many foods, and can be enjoyed all year round. It's remarkable as a single varietal, versatile as a blending component, and a seriously good food wine.

It was rated 95 points by James Halliday, who described it as "an elegant, high quality blend, the two major varieties playing off each other's strengths, with a full array of red and black fruits."

So, to celebrate the success of our second vintage, I've put together a very special six pack with a bonus 375ml G.A.M. Shiraz 2005 -95 points Robert Parker.

That's a great deal!
